RSPB

Date: 19th May 2017 @ 3:43pm

Today, Steph came from RSPB. She explained that the RSPB is a charity and they have over 100 spaces for nature.

First, the children watched a video clip about nature and wildlife. They then discussed what they liked about the clip and why.

Steph asked the children what wildlife we have in our school grounds. She then helped the children group the creatures into vertebrate and invertebrate.

Outside:

Steph discussed food chains and food webs.

Outside, the children worked together to label the school grounds with different habitats. We investigated the quad, the EYFS outdoor area, the playground and the field.

Once we got back to class, the children discussed what they would have liked to see and how they could create a habitat to facilitate the creatures they would have liked to see.

Steph left us lots of 'how to guides' to help create a new habitat to encourage different creatures to our school grounds.
