Journalism day at Cowley , by Mrs Platt

Mrs Baskett took Ashleigh, Eleanor, Joe and Michael up to Cowley Language College today.

They took part in a writing celebration day - they studied 'hot off the press' stories and then became jounalists for the day. They have even produced their own news recording...the video will be posted in the next couple of weeks so watch this space!

Proud Headteacher , by Mrs Kellett

Date: 18th May 2015 @ 10:52pm

Luckily, I have had lots of opportunities to feel proud of the children in our school and today I was overwhelmed with pride of the achievements of two of our children.

Joe in Y6 travelled to Skegness over the weekend to play in a Rugby tournament.  They played five games and finished first.  Joe was the captain of the team which beat Milford Rugby Club in the final - a team that were unbeaten.  Well done to Joe and all his team mates.  One to watch in the future if you are a Saints fan!

Charlotte in year one came to see me today and I commented on her beautiful new haircut, however she then went on to tell me that she had actually asked her mum if she could have her hair cut because she wanted to give it to 'The Little Princess Trust'.  This Trust is a charity that provides children with wigs because they have lost their own hair because of Cancer treatment.  Each wig that is donated to a child costs the charity £350.  Charlotte has had her hair cut and has also been raising money - so far £368!  What a fantastic achievement.

On 15th May, Charlotte went to the hairdressers and had a massive 9 inches cut from her hair.

What a selfless, humbling and generous thing to do for children who are suffering.  I am so proud of you Charlotte
