Art homework projects, by Miss Hughes

Date: 15th Jun 2016 @ 2:01pm

In art this year we have been studying Nathan Wyburn. You might remember him from Britain's Got Talent a few years ago. He made a portrait of one of the judges out of toast and marmite. The children had to create a portrait of someone or design something using food in the same way Nathan Wyburn did. The effort the children and parents have put in has been brilliant. We can not thank parents enough for the continued support they have shown. I will be emailing Nathan Wyburn some of your spectacular art work you have made. I know he will be impressed.

Well done everyone!

Gillmoss Recycling Centre, by Miss Hughes

Date: 20th May 2016 @ 3:45pm

We had a super day at Gillmoss Recycling Centre today! We learnt lots about recycling and how the centre works. Did you know that every year, one household produces the equivalent of 3 polar bears worth of rubbish? (In weight) ... AND most of that can be recycled. We are going home to tell our families about how we can be more green and eco friendly.

Thank you to Kirsty at Gillmoss who was a super teacher, taught us loads and made us laugh lots!

Miss Hughes and Miss McCormack x

Happy Birthday Queen Elizabeth! , by Miss Hughes

Date: 13th May 2016 @ 4:43pm

As the Queen's official birthday celebrations took place today, we have been focusing on all things royal this week!

In literacy, we have been reading The Queen’s Hat and The Queen’s Handbag By Steve Antony! Can you believe a sneaky swan stole her handbag and took it to different landmarks around the UK?

In geography, we have been looking at and researching a variety of landmarks around the UK and in music we have been learning the British national anthem! We recorded ourselves singing it this morning and we are sending it to Queen Elizabeth to wish her a very Happy 90th Birthday!

Today, we have had a fun filled morning of Queen Elizabeth || inspired activities including: creating a mosaic, a treasure hunt, creating crowns, biscuit making, using Morpho app on the iPads to create Queen's speeches, coin making, plus lots more!

We took lots of photos and videos so watch this space!

Have a fab weekend everyone x

Splashes of Colour in Nature , by Mrs Taylor

Date: 30th Mar 2016 @ 4:47pm

Q3 are involved in an art project which involves schools in France and Italy. We take our inspiration from the beautiful colours in the world around us. We looked at modern art by English artists and used a typical English spring scene for our colour choices. We then got creative as we listened to Vivaldi's Spring. We hope our European friends like our works of art.

Last week we decided we would like to have a PJ afternoon.- slippers, teddies, popcorn and a film in our pyjamas.

Well done Q3! You have really shown me that you can be the best class in the world!

Stone Age Boy left a message, by Miss Hughes

Date: 10th Mar 2016 @ 2:46pm

On our way back from worship on Monday, we noticed that something was different about our classroom. The lights had been turned off and there seemed to be lots of objects out on the tables. After opening the door we began to investigate the objects to see what they might be for.

Stone age boy has been leaving us notes each day this week, giving us missions to complete. He has been sending Miss Hughes video messages to check up on our writing. He left lots of ancient artefacts to inspire our writing. This week, we have been learning about main and subordinate clauses to form interesting sentences. Our challenge is to write an 100 word saga by the end of the week. The best stories will be published in a book .yes

We can't wait to show them off.
