Governor Reflections

I have been a member of St Lukes Church for as long as I can remember. I went to Sunday school and Brownies as a little girl then Pathfinders and Guides as a teenager. Throughout my time there we were rewarded with various items for attending and participating. I remember getting my first Good News Bible and opening it at Psalm 64; A prayer for protection: “I am in trouble Lord, listen to my prayer.... people will rejoice for what the Lord has done, they will find safety in him, all good people will praise him.” This has stayed with me my whole life and indeed I know that if I feel troubled He is always there to listen.

I have some very fond memories of my childhood at Church; from being in the choir and singing at peoples weddings, to going on Church holidays and Anniversary Sunday playing clarinet with the band through the streets of our Parish. Never underestimate the love and power of a community!
