Aspiration is one of our key curriculum drivers. I'm so glad that we are working with St Helens Chamber again this year. It so important that our children learn all about the world of work. I've uploaded some photos of our Careers Fair we held in July. 21 different businesses came to tell our children what it is like to work at their company. It was a great afternoon.

It was so lovely to see all the children back after our summer holidays. We began the day with worship where we looked at the story 'The Giving Tree'. The children were set a challenge to accepted the gift of learning and education this year and work with the staff to develop their talents.
We are so excited for the coming year at Queen's Park. Don't forget to follow us on Twitter too.

Well done to our year four and five children who took part in a Squash tournament this week. They showcased their skills they have been learning all year with Jim and John and as usual their behaviour was impeccable.

On Sunday evening, I met Peter and Nana at Chalon Court. They had travelled all the way from Chongqing in China. Peter is the deputy head of our partner school and Nana is the mathematics teacher. They have come to Queen's Park to see how our education system differs from theirs. They are very interested in our creativitiy and how we teach the children the Arts. They have a extremely busy schedule as we are trying to feel as much as possible into their day. Mrs Taylor has taken them to Langtree Park today and we are off the World of Glass tomorrow.

Mrs Grierson from our Reception was awarded 'Outstanding Teacher of the term' from Hayes Education. This is for all the postive feedback she has received. It is so well deserved. She has very quickly become a member of our school team and has been fantastic in Reception. Thank you Mirs Grierson

Rebecca received 'The Young Citizen' award tonight at St Helens Town Hall. She was chosen because of her dedication to her work, her infectious enthusiasm in everything she does and for her continued support for her family and her friends. She's a credit to our school. Well done Rebecca.

Today our year six children attended 'Hands of Friendship' Leavers' Service at the Anglician Cathedral. The children received a blessing from our very own Miss Hope. They behaved impeccably well and were a pleasure. Well done year six.

All our KS2 children received an Arts certificate today for the work completed during Arts fortnight.. This award gave the children a great introduction to the Arts. It rewards 20 hours of learning related to the award. Well done everyone

The children have been so busy this week. We've had a visit from Clink the robot, a visit to Garswood Primary to meet an author, a poetry festival, a singing festival, Judo assembly and that is as well as the fantastic lessons that have taken place all week. Phew!!

Today our Ethos group met some of our Governors to talk to them about our worship in school. The children had been to all the classes and observed worship. They fed all their findings back to the Governors. Well done children.

Junior Chef Academy joined us today and taught the children some valuable skills. They learned all about pasta and how it is made, they learned how to chop vegetables correctly and it all tasted fantastic. Well done Year 3 and Year 4.

Our year three children and parents had a fantastic day today. They went back in time to the Stone Age. They did lots of fun activities including den building and a Stone Age feast.
