Our Digital Strategy

At Queen's Park CE/URC Primary School, we believe that Everything is Possible. Our vision underpins everything we do, inspiring every child to believe in themselves, embrace new opportunities and realise their full potential. We are committed to creating a nurturing, inclusive environment where every pupil feels valued, confident and empowered to succeed. By fostering curiosity, creativity and resilience, we enable our children to flourish academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.

Our Ambition

Our ambition is to equip every child with the knowledge, skills and experiences they need to thrive in an ever-changing world. Technology plays a vital role in achieving this vision, enhancing teaching and learning while providing opportunities for pupils to explore, create, collaborate and communicate in meaningful ways.

In September 2025, we began our Apple journey by introducing a 1:1 iPad programme for every pupil from Year 2 onwards. This marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter in our digital transformation, ensuring every child had equitable access to powerful learning tools both inside and beyond the classroom.

To support this transformation, we established a Digital Strategy Roadmap that brought together pupils, teachers, technical staff and senior leaders to shape a shared vision for digital learning. Together, we developed a strategy that built upon our existing strengths, blending outstanding teaching with innovative technology and pedagogy. This was an evolution rather than a revolution, ensuring that staff were supported with the skills, confidence and professional learning needed to maximise the impact of technology across the curriculum.

Today, technology is embedded throughout our school curriculum, empowering pupils to become independent, collaborative and creative learners. Our use of iPad has enhanced digital literacy, improved accessibility, increased pupil engagement and enabled more personalised learning experiences. Above all, it has strengthened our belief that Everything is Possible, giving every child the confidence, skills and opportunities to achieve their aspirations and make a positive difference in the world.

Strong Foundations

At Queen's Park, we recognise that exceptional learning is built on strong foundations. High-quality interactions, rich discussion, practical experiences, handwriting, early reading and early maths, outdoor learning and play remain central to our curriculum. Technology is never used for its own sake; instead, it is carefully integrated where it adds genuine value, enhancing learning, increasing accessibility and providing opportunities that would otherwise not be possible. We are equally mindful of promoting healthy digital habits, ensuring that screen time is purposeful, balanced and always supports our wider educational aims.

Our pupils use iPads to explore concepts in innovative ways, take ownership of their learning and work together to solve problems. Learning is active, purposeful and highly engaging, with technology enabling children to demonstrate their understanding in ways that best suit their strengths. Whether producing films, composing music, designing presentations, creating digital books or programming robots, pupils are given meaningful opportunities to express themselves creatively while developing essential digital skills.

From Year 2 onwards, pupils use Seesaw as our digital learning platform, providing a seamless space to access learning resources, complete and submit work, receive timely feedback and organise their learning independently.

To ensure consistency and confidence across the school, we have developed a shared bank of core Apple apps and digital tools that support learning in every classroom. Applications such as Pages, Keynote, iMovie and GarageBand are used across the curriculum, enabling pupils to create, collaborate and communicate with increasing independence. By using a consistent suite of tools, our children develop the confidence and transferable digital skills needed to become creative, capable learners, ready for the opportunities of the future.

Through this balanced approach, technology has become a powerful enabler rather than a distraction—supporting every child to explore, create and achieve, while reinforcing our belief that Everything is Possible.

Every Child Achieving and Thriving

At Queen's Park CE/URC Primary School, we believe that every child should have the opportunity to succeed. Guided by our vision that Everything is Possible, we are committed to ensuring that every pupil can achieve, thrive and flourish, reflecting the Department for Education's ambition for every child to achieve and thrive. Our 1:1 iPad programme forms part of our universal offer, providing every child with equitable access to the tools, resources and opportunities they need to succeed.

Technology plays a key role in supporting our adaptive teaching approach. As part of our universal offer, teachers provide instant access to scaffolds such as writing frames, vocabulary banks, multiplication grids and differentiated resources, enabling pupils to access learning with increasing confidence and independence. By reducing barriers to learning while maintaining high expectations, we ensure that every child is both supported and challenged to make excellent progress.

The accessibility features built into Apple devices are also embedded within our universal offer. Tools such as Dictation, Speak Selection, translation features, display adjustments and coloured backgrounds are available to every pupil, allowing children to access learning in ways that best meet their individual needs without unnecessary barriers. These features particularly benefit pupils who require additional support with reading and writing, as well as those learning English as an additional language, while remaining available to all learners whenever they enhance understanding.
