School Ethos Council
School Ethos Council
Our school ethos council is made up of two elected representatives from each Y2 – Y6 class.
Democracy in Action - The children stand for election and have to persuade their classmates why they will make a good councillor. There is then an election in each class.
The council meets weekly after school to discuss a range of issues from racism to smoking to Christian ethos. All meetings are recorded in the minute book by a different councillor each week.
The council monitors the Christian ethos of the school and reports back termly to the Ethos and Distinctiveness Committee of the Governing Body. They have observed class worship, monitored class worship books and done pupil voice questionnaires to gather their evidence.
The School Ethos Council have also worked towards and achieved several awards for the school.
