Our vision for Queen’s Park C.E./U.R.C. Primary School
Together, we believe, achieve and enjoy
Through our vision, we serve our community by providing an inclusive, happy, secure and caring Christian environment where all are valued and respected. We believe that God loves all his children unconditionally and values the uniqueness of the individual and recognise the diversity and range of contributions that each child can make.
Our Core Christian Values
Love
Forgiveness
Trust
Respect
Honesty
Hope
This is accomplished through 6 key principles:
Challenge
We encourage our children at Queen’s Park to be risk-takers, to reason and solve problems, to comprehend and apply, to analyse and evaluate. We want all our pupils to relish challenges, embrace their mistakes as part of the learning process, value the importance of effort, have the perseverance to complete challenging tasks, respond carefully to feedback and take inspiration from others.
Resilience
At Queen’s Park, we know that the pupils who develop the skills of resilience and perseverance will make good progress and be successful. Consequently, instilling all our pupils with 'growth mindsets' is integral in all that we do at our school.
Opportunities
Through ‘opportunities’, we raise aspirations to broaden our children’s horizons – opening their eyes to the myriad careers they might pursue. We provide tangible role models to raise our pupils’ aspirations to inspire them to work even harder to be the best that they can be. We want our pupils to have a clear understanding of the link between achieving well and having goals for the future.
Wellbeing
At Queen’s Park, we understand that happiness is linked to personal growth, health and development. We ensure our children are happy, healthy individuals. We give our children the confidence to thrive in a diverse, global society and be respectful citizens with British and Christian Values at the core.
Knowledge
We encourage our children to be resourceful learners. The knowledge imparted is crafted by our subject leaders to ensure that all pupils achieve broad, deep subject expertise. All our teachers teach with the aim to ensure pupils have sufficient knowledge to progress through primary school and beyond.
