Homework

Children will receive mathematics and English homework; they will also receive spellings and have reading to complete.

Maths and English will be given out on Friday and it is expected that it is completed by the following Wednesday. These worksheets are to be returned to school.

Spellings will also be given out on a Friday and the children will be tested on spellings and Times Tables the following Friday.

We appreciate your help with homework and understand this amount can be overwhelming at first but this is a way to become actively involved in your child’s learning and help your child meet the high standards expected.

Any worries or questions about homework, please ask.

Class Value

Reading

We urge you to read every night with your child. Just five to ten minutes regularly can make a massive difference. Children are expected to have read their book at home a few times before we can change it in school.

Along with homework and reading, children also have access to a range of online programs. This includes Reading Plus, Nessy, RM Easimaths and Times Table Rockstars. Additional use of these programs is recommended and will support your children with learning within class. If you need the log on details for the online programs please contact/ask the class teacher.
