Reading Buddies

Queen's Park Primary School know that reading is essential in helping children to learn and develop. We have a 'Reading Buddy' scheme in school where our children from year 5 and year 6  read with our younger children.  Our Reading Buddies are trained by Miss Monsvoll, our KS2 Reading Champion.  The children have develop their basic reading skills.  The Reading Buddies have been trained to ask the younger children questions about books that have been read.  They are encouraged to use lots of praise to help support our younger readers in their reading journey
